"Floating" Light Shade

With the use of electromagnets to "float" the upper section of the lamp shade in mid-air, an arrangement of LEDs and mirrors gives the impression that light is being emitted from the upper part of the shade, while in fact the LEDs are all located in the lower section of the shade.

The shade will always remain floating in the air when the lamp is in the stand-by OFF mode, as the electromagnets continue to function in silence, drawing a small amount of power from the mains power supply.

When switched ON and illuminated, there is a subtle 15Watt of white LED light.

APPEARANCE:
The lamp consists of a hand-crafted wooden base with a high glossy black finish.
Attached is a stylish black fabric covered power cable.
The lampshade is manufactured in matt black fabric with a pearl white inner furnishing.

The light flows through the openings of the mirror which covers the lower part of the lampshade.

THE TECHNOLOGY:
What makes the top half of this lampshade appear to be suspended in the air, is the integrated levitation technology. Consisting of electromagnetic components and a sophisticated control system, this clever optical illusion is created.
The very latest LED technology is also used, ensuring the lamp operates using very little power consumption.
With a touch of your fingertip, the lamp can also be dimmed to the intensity of light you require.

SPECIFICATIONS:
The fabric covered power cord is 2.00 meters long (6,5 feet) and is connected to the universal power adaptor with a power cable with the length of 1.85 meters (6 feet).
The standard universal power adaptor has a UK three pin power plug.
